Earlier, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav put up a fourth-wicket partnership of 65 runs before Daryl Mitchell broke it.

Despite losing Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, Shubman persisted in playing strokes and scored his third century overall in the 50-over format.

In a short period of time, Gill established himself as a pillar of the Men in Blue and is considered one of the top batters in the world.

Together, he and captain Rohit scored 60 runs, with Rohit contributing 34. Ishan (5) and Virat (8) failed to make an impression.

In the 49th over, Shubman Gill hit three consecutive sixes to become the fifth Indian to reach a double century in ODI cricket.

He is also the youngest ever to reach the milestone, and the opener is currently on track to play out the entirety of India's inning.
