On January 26, 2023, the nation will commemorate its 74th Republic Day. Republic Day is observed on this day in 1950 to mark the adoption of the Constitution.
On the duty path, preparations are being made for the Parade. In September of last year, PM Modi renamed Rajpath to Duty Path. The parade will be staged here for the first time this year.
The Prime Minister and President of the nation, among other notable individuals, march in the Republic Day parade. There will also be visitors from various countries.
The head of state from any nation is also invited by the central government. Every year, millions of spectators congregate from Rajpath to Red Fort to see this act of valour.
On Republic Day, the head of another nation will be invited as the principal guest, just like every other year. On Republic Day, it has been customary to invite foreign heads of state.
This time, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of Egypt, will serve as the principal guest at the Republic Day event, which will take place on January 26, 2023.
It should be remembered that no chief guest was invited for two years due to covid. However, this Republic Day ceremony will be graced by the Egyptian President after a two-year absence.
