On Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the most recent Test rankings, although there was a significant oversight on their part.

The Indian squad captained by Rohit Sharma was ranked first when the ICC first announced the Test rankings.

The Indian team lost control of the top slot once the ICC realised their error after some time had passed.

The Australian team is ranked first in the ICC Test Squad Rankings, while the Indian team has improved. The BCCI administrators shared the fans' displeasure with this modification in the rankings.

"Either the ICC has made a tremendous mistake or they have made a mistake, and neither is surprising," a BCCI official remarked.

In the first of four Border-Gavaskar Trophy matches versus Australia, the Indian side is ahead 1-0. The Indian team would undoubtedly surpass Australia.

India only has 115 rating points in the rankings published by the ICC following revisions, while Australia is in first place with 126 points.
