New Delhi Aamir Khan finally returned in the biopic of Mughal Gulshan Kumar of the music industry of Hindi cinema. Aamir left the film at a time when allegations of sexual harassment of film director Subhash Kapoor during the Me Too movement surfaced a few years ago. Now Aamir has also given the reason for his return.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Aamir said that he had announced not to do the film by tweeting in October last year, but now he is ready for it. Aamir told that he and Kiran were producing the film and I was acting in it. When we were doing this film, we did not know that a case was going against Subhash Kapoor. It will be a case of five or six years old. If we do not live in the media much, we would not have noticed it. During the Me Too movement last year, this case was mentioned. That was when we came to know about this case. And we were very sad. Kiran and we discussed this in detail. We had been in a dilemma for over a week.
Asked why Aamir agreed to do the film, Aamir said that everyone talks very well about him (Subhash Kapoor). Nobody has any problem with them, rather people praise them. Kiran and I understand very well that his behavior has been good with these women, that does not mean that he cannot misbehave with another woman. Aamir said that he was relieved when he spoke with the remaining women. Therefore, after thinking about everything, I wrote to IFTDA that I am reconsidering my decision and I am returning to the film.
The film started with Akshay Kumar
After giving a successful film like ‘Jolly LLB 2’ with director Subhash Kapoor in 2017, Akshay announced Mughal with Bhushan Kumar, son of Gulshan Kumar, which was directed by Subhash. Akshay shared the film’s first look on Twitter, but after differences over the script, Akshay pulled out of the film.

After some time there was news of Aamir Khan’s involvement with this project. Aamir decided to co-produce the film and play the role of Gulshan Kumar.
Aamir Khan announced on social media to leave Mughal
After the Me Too movement erupted in 2018, Subhash Kapoor’s allegations of sexual harassment started a few years ago, which led to Aamir Khan separating himself from the film. He made his decision public on social media by writing a note, which Subhash Kapoor endorsed and said Aamir’s stand was correct.
