If you were a teenager during the early 2000s and late ’90s, you would remember seeing the zigzag parting on a lot of celebrities and pop sensations. And with the resurgence of almost every trend from the era, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the zigzag parting is back. Recently, supermodel Bella Hadid was seen flaunting this look.
Hairstylist Laura Polko did Bella’s zigzag parting and the makeup was done by Patric Ta. She styled her look with black-rimmed eyeliner and wore a statement necklace with the look.
Gen Z and millennials are already sporting the zigzag parting and posting this hairstyle on their Reels and Tiktok videos. After Gen Z labeled the side-parted hair as uncool, it seems the zigzag parting will have a moment in fashion and beauty.
Instead of going for an updo with the zigzag parting, keep the hair open or tie it in a low ponytail. Here’s how you can achieve the zigzag parting at home.
1. Comb your hair neatly and it should be well-conditioned.
2. Now use the pointed end of the comb handle and draw a zigzag line from front to the back. You can go for three to four zigzag points ideally. Too many zigzag lines would look overwhelming.
3. Use your palms to smoothen the parts and make them neater.
4. Use a hair spray to fix the look and voila.
