Biden announced this in his first official press conference on Thursday after becoming president.
“Today I am setting a second goal and that is that we will give vaccine to 200 million people in the first 100 days of our tenure,” Biden said.
He added, “I know that it is ambitious, twice our original goal. But no other country has come close to what we are doing and I am confident that we can do it.”
So far, 13 million doses of the Corona vaccine have been given in the US,
and according to American health experts, about 25 people are being vaccinated every day at this time.
Not a single question on corona
At an hour-long press conference, Biden was asked questions on a range of issues,
but the most surprising thing was that none of the journalists there questioned the president about the current health crisis and Corona in America.
Many people are also talking about this on social media.
HuffPost’s Washington bureau chief Amanda Tarkel wrote on Twitter, “Surprisingly, not a single question about Corona.”
North America bureau chief, Paul Deneher, also questioned,
“White House journalists at the president’s first press conference after the death of five million (American) people had any questions about the president.”
Not asked, which is still affecting the lives of the American people the most. It is difficult to get a better example of how ignorant journalists are about the issues of common people. “
Another journalist Ted Gainowez tweeted,
“Forcing the president to answer yes or no to regain the headline and then ask about the upcoming elections would reflect a bad habit of journalists joining the horse race.”
“We are still in the midst of an epidemic and the economy is in the worst condition since the Great Depression and you want to know who will be President Biden’s running mate (for the post of Vice President) in the 2024 election?”
