There has been a scam of more than Rs 2.49 crore in the revenue head of Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) schemes. This amount of GST and royalty item has been lost by the vendors. In the financial year 2020-21, MNREGA vendors purchased material worth Rs 31.26 crore. Whose GST and royalty is about 2.5 crore rupees. But only 83 thousand rupees have been deposited in this item. That too only three blocks together have deposited this amount. Among them, the vendors of Giddhaur block have deposited the maximum amount of Rs 79 thousand.
Whereas in Chatra block three thousand rupees and in Mayurhand block only one thousand rupees have been deposited. This is the reason that Chatra district has become the lowest depositor of GST and royalty in the state. Most of the districts have deposited the full amount of tax. The item carries eight to ten percent GST and royalty. Let us tell, since the implementation of GST, Since then the vendors here are not collecting it. In such a situation, if the previous pages will be scanned, then a big scam can come out from this. The authorities have also not taken any special interest in making payment of GST and royalty amount from the vendors. This is the reason why the amount of vendor tax item is being siphoned off. Garhwa district has paid the highest tax of 4.22 crore in the current financial year 2020-21. 70.40 crore has been spent on material item and tax of Rs.3.44 crore has been paid. Similarly, Simdega has spent Rs 40.42 crore and paid tax of Rs 3.34 crore. Latehar is in third place. He has spent Rs 23.95 crore and deposited tax of Rs 1.95 crore. The fourth place is Gumla district. Which has deposited tax of more than Rs 1.92 crore by spending Rs 30.11 crore. Similarly, Rs 1.75 crore in Jamtara, Rs 1.72 crore in Deoghar, 1. 42 crore and in Dumka Rs 1.14 crore tax has been deposited.
The lowest Chatra has deposited only 83 thousand rupees. Giridih, which has paid Rs 3.33 lakh, is among the other tax-paying districts.
