There’s also the question of the kind of data that Google, the other big internet giant, have been collecting from its consumers
Google has almost become synonymous with internet searching for information and its array of services are a convenience unlike any other.
For information search, there’s Google, for our daily commuting there’s Google Maps, for entertainment, we turn to YouTube, then there’s Gmail or Inbox for our daily communication, Google Photos for storing our favorite pictures on the cloud. There’s Google Plus as well though it was never a big hit. Such is the scale of Google’s top products that most of them have over 1 billion users and the number is growing by the day. And that’s hell of a lot of data.
Google has one single data policy for all services. You can actually view what Google does with your data from your account settings. Ranging from GPS of Google Maps or if you have personalized ads turned on.
This is how to download all your data from Google:
If you have been a Google user for some time and also have been using Android, there is a lot of your data stored on Google servers. In most cases, users give permission for this data to be collected and all the data from all the different Google apps turns out to be a hell of a lot of data.
You can go to google.com/takeout and download all your data. Google data can be downloaded as a zip file and this will include all your documents from Google Drive, your data from Google Fit app if you use that, your notes from Google Keep, YouTube data, etc.
It is also important not to upload sensitive personal data on social sites and on Google apps. With hackers stalking lots of users, anyone can misuse or manipulate the data and so as the saying goes “Precaution is better than cure..”, download all the sensitive data now and delete it from the websites immediately.
