Union Minister Anurag Thakur is the first MP to be appointed as a Captain in the Territorial Army. According to a statement, Thakur, a four-time MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, was inducted into the Territorial Army in July 2016 as a lieutenant by then Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag. Thakur has been promoted and appointed as Captain in 124 Sikh Regiment.
‘Repeated resolution’
According to the information revealed on Wednesday, Minister Anurag Thakur, who was included in the Union Cabinet, said, ‘I am very honored to become a Captain after getting promotion. I repeat my resolve to serve the people and continue to fulfill my duties towards Mother India ‘. After passing the SSB exam, Anurag Thakur joined the army after a personal interview in Chandigarh. He also participated in the day-long pre-qualification training camp held in Bhopal.
