Continuing the launch of electric vehicles in the country, Bird Electric Mobility, a subsidiary of Bird Group, is planning to launch its electric scooter ES1 + in the country. This scooter was first introduced at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is believed that the Bird ES1 + electric scooter will initially be made available for sale in Delhi-NCR. The company will then launch it in Tier I and Tier-II cities.
For information, let this scooter be brought from China to India under the CKD route and the company will produce it at its Manesar plant. Believe the media report, the company can launch the new Bird Electric Scooter at a price of around Rs 50,000 (ex-showroom). Due to this, it will be the most economical electric two-wheeler in the country.
The powertrain system of the Bird ES1 + electric scooter will include a 3Ah lithium-ion battery and a 1.6kW electric battery. Which will be able to give an electric range of 55 km in a single charge. At the same time, according to the company, its top speed will be up to 45 km per hour. According to the report, 140 mm ground clearance will be given in this scooter. With this, the total weight will be 62kgs. The point to note here is that Bird Electric recently signed an agreement with Australia-based e-mobility brand VMoto.
Under the deal, the company will buy the CUMini electric scooter for the purpose of testing in a ride-sharing scheme by the Government of India. VMoto sells a number of electric two-wheelers worldwide under the SuperSoco brand name. As a feature, this electric scooter will be provided with an LED headlamp and taillamp, split seat, and LCD instrument cluster. At the same time, this electric scooter will be 1782 mm in length, 727 mm in width, and 1087 mm in height.
