Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians In a thrilling match in the opening match of IPL 18 on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Dwayne Bravo played an excellent knock scoring 68 runs of 30 balls to take his team to ultimate victory against Mumbai Indians. He continuously and constantly hammered all the Mumbai Indians bowlers out of the park. He hit three fours and seven sixes to take his team to victory.
Also in a debut bonafide performance Leg spinner Mayank Markande bowled really well getting fantastic figures of 3/23 in his allotted four overs. He made a record with these figures and surpassed bumrah’s record of 3/32 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013 when he made his debut.
Chennai Superkings were chasing a decent 166 and Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu began steadily and cautiously, but both Watson and Rayadu went early after contributing 16 and 22 respectively. Both departed in quick succession. Due to an injury kedarJadhav had to retire hurt early.
Moreover MS Dhoni and R Jadeja could not add much scoring 5 and 12 respectively. Bravo played a fantastic innings and opened an onslaught on the bowlers, but he was dismissed in the 19th over and Jadhav returned to take his team to victory
Mumbai Indians, batting first set a target of 165 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs in their match against Chennai Superkings. Fantastic batting by Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya helped the hosts to post a decent total on the score board.
Evin Lewis went for a duck and skipper Rohit Sharma went early scoring only 15 runs. But Ishan and Suryakumar finally stabilized the innings and helped Mumbai Indians post a decent total.
After the two openers departed early Ishan and Surya knitted a good partnership to help Mumbai Indians to reach a good total of 165. Both the batsmen missed their fifties as Ishan went for 40 and Surya for 43, but they ensured that Mumbai could post a competitive total.
In the final overs krunal hit five fours and two sixes making a quick-fire 41 of 22 balls to take Mumbai to a good total.
