A record 23,179 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Maharashtra on Wednesday, the highest number of cases reported in a single day in 2021. Health officials said that the total number of people infected in the state has increased to 23,70,507 including new cases. On Wednesday, the death toll rose to 53,080 with 84 more patients killed by the epidemic, the official said. He said that 9,138 people were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total number of healthy people to 21,63,391 so far. There are 1,52,760 patients undergoing treatment in the state at present. Nagpur city recorded the highest number of 2,698 cases of Covid-19 during the day. This was followed by 2,612 cases in Pune and 2,377 in Mumbai city.

Madhya Pradesh

Meanwhile, 832 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday and with this, the total number of people found infected with this virus has reached 2,71,040. In the last 24 hours, two more persons have died due to this disease. Till now, death numbers have increased to 3,983 in the state. This information has been given by an official of the Madhya Pradesh Health Department.

Punjab

On the other hand, cases of coronavirus are also increasing continuously in Punjab. On Wednesday, 2,039 new patients of Covid-19 came out, while 35 more people died due to infection. As per the Bulletin of the Health Department, the number of people who are still untreated has risen to 13,320. The figure was 12,616 the day before. At the same time, with 1,274 patients free of infection, the number of healthy patients increased to 1.84 lakh.

According to the bulletin, the total number of infected people in the state has increased to 2.03 lakh after new cases have come up, while the death toll has increased to 6,172 with 35 more deaths due to infection. As per the bulletin, Jalandhar had the highest number of 277 cases of infection, while 233 patients were found in Ludhiana, 222 in Mohali, 203 in Patiala, and 191 in Hoshiarpur.

At the same time, after confirmation of corona infection, Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal was admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. On the other hand, according to a health bulletin, 201 new coronavirus cases were also reported in Chandigarh, after which the total number of infected people increased to 23,592. At the same time, no one died of infection here on Wednesday and the total death toll was 359. Along with this, 70 more patients who got healthy from the infection were discharged from the hospital.
