According to the information received, the supply of this Covid vaccine made at the Serum Institute of India has been stopped for four weeks.
However, the British Housing, Communities and Local Government Minister Robert Genrich has said that neither any factory nor any country is responsible for this.
Meanwhile, the Health Department has said that even after the supply is affected, by the end of July, the goal of giving the first dose of vaccine to all adults will be achieved.
Earlier, in a letter issued to local health institutions, the National Health Service (NHS), England on Wednesday warned that supplies of the Corona vaccine may be below expectations in April.
The Scottish Government has said that it will interrogate Britain’s Vaccine Taskforce regarding future corona vaccine supplies. At the same time, the governments of Wales and Northern Ireland have said that the impact that this interruption can have on their vaccination program will be investigated.
At the same time, a spokesperson of the Serum Institute in India said, “A few weeks ago, 5 million vaccines were sent to Britain. We will try to send the supplements later, assessing the current situation and need of India.”
A source told the BBC that according to earlier plans, 50 million doses were to be sent in March, but no specific time was fixed for it.
He has said that despite the shortage in vaccine supply, by April 15, we will not be far behind with the goal of giving the first dose to all adults above the age of 50 and by the end of July.
Generics have hoped that the month of April will be different in the sense that the number of those who get the second dose may be higher than those who got the first dose.
