DDA Housing Scheme 2019, the process of surrendering flats has started intensifying. After the draw on 23 July, so far 3017 people have given applications to surrender flats. All are LIG flats and are in Narela.
The DDA had made several attempts to stop the flats from being surrendered this time. DDA officials were placed on the sites who were showing the sample flats to the people, so that people would see the flats and buy them. In the last two schemes, the DDA has suffered a lot due to the surrender of the flats. Despite this, DDA flats are starting to surrender.
The draw of DDA is just 15 days, during this time, DDA is upset due to more than 3017 applications received. According to DDA officials, the reason for surrendering the flats was being told for its small size twice, but this time the applicants in the form are telling Narela to be far away. There is also a lack of basic facilities. This time the new flats were included in the scheme. In the scheme of 18000 flats, only 8438 people got flats. The reason for this was that the DDA had fewer applications.
A senior DDA official said that this time the flats were made really good. He hoped that the applications may have come less, but the flats will not be surrendered. But, people are constantly coming to surrender flats. Approximately 40 to 50% people have given the surrender application, stating their price is high. Now these applications are being pushed forward.
