It is a fact that today we have become addicted to social media like Facebook and Twitter. We are spending most of the times, posting, reading, liking and replying on Social Media. As a result, we have become habituated and addicted to our phones and social media has taken over our lives.social media

These are some tips on how to de-addict yourself from social media and reclaim your life:

  • HIDE YOUR PHONE

At least for one or two days a week just switch off and hide your phone. Don’t answer any call and don’t look forward to any update. Call it a phone free day and be free and reclaim your life

  • SPEND TIME WITH REAL PEOPLE

Instead of wasting time on social media platforms, start spending time with your spouse, family, and friends. This will give you more happiness and as they say ‘real is real’. We as humans need real social interactions, which social media can’t give us. So switch off your phone and get really happy with real people.

  • GET INVOLVED IN SPORTS

Just like our minds, our body also needs activity and exercise. Today the obesity levels are touching new highs. And the need of the hour is to exercise at least for 30 minutes to 1 hour daily. You can listen to music while you do so, but don’t keep looking into your phones for that Facebook update every few seconds

  • READ A BOOK

Reading is a very enriching experience. Sadly in this digital age reading is losing its shine. Pick up a book and get reading. It will help you relax and distract your mind from daily hassles thus providing you with happiness and joy.

  • SING AND DANCE

Music helps us relax and de-stress. So listen to your favorite music and sing along. Music heals and is very good for the brain, so switch on that mp3 player and listen to whatever music you enjoy.
