Delhi Police has claimed to have solved a case of murder in Mehrauli area six months ago. In this case, a person named Aftab has been arrested for the murder of live-in partner. It is alleged that Aftab killed his live-in partner Shraddha on May 18 and then dismembered her body and threw it at different places in the forest.
According to the Delhi Police, the accused Aftab and the girl came close while working in Mumbai. They loved each other, but the family was angry with this relationship. the girl’s family lives in Maharashtra. Both of them rented a house in Delhi’s Chhatarpur area. Police told that when the girl started pressurizing Aftab for marriage, the quarrels started increasing between them. On May 18, there was a fight between them on the issue of marriage. In a fit of anger, Aftab strangled the girl to death.
Delhi Police’s Additional DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said, “Aftab has confessed that after the murder he cut his girlfriend’s body into several pieces. In order to remove the smell of dead body, he kept the pieces of the dead body in refrigerator . Gradually, he used to throw the pieces of the dead body in the forest in different areas of the city during the night.
How was the murder discovered?
The father claims that Shraddha also came to meet him and sat in front and narrated his problem. After which he asked Shraddha to leave Aftab, but she went back after Aftab apologized. Shraddha’s father told the police that he had stopped talking to Shraddha because of his disobedience. But in September, a friend of Shraddha called her son and told that Shraddha’s phone has been going off for almost two months. When no trace of Shraddha was found, her father lodged a missing report at Manikpur police station in Maharashtra. In the FIR, he also mentioned Shraddha’s relationship with Aftab and feared that Aftab may have a hand in Shraddha’s disappearance.
Police started investigation in this case
Police started investigation and started searching for Aftab. Police say that after the arrest, Aftab admitted during interrogation that there was a dispute between them over marriage and in anger he killed her. The family members of the girl lodged a complaint at the Mehrauli police station in Delhi. Both of them met through a dating app. Lived in live-in in Mumbai and live together even after coming to Delhi. While living in Delhi, they started fighting. Often there used to be a fight between them in a quarrel. Police said that all digital and scientific evidences have been collected and they are being investigated. The police have also recovered the fridge in which the body pieces were allegedly kept.
