Sanjay Raut’s wife was recently summoned by the ED
Now the ED has revealed that Sanjay Raut’s wife had obtained Rs 67 lakh through the wife and another entity of the accused in the PMC bank scam.
for questioning, after which the Shiv Sena MP fiercely targeted the ED and the BJP.
Officials said that the ED is investigating the wife of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for 67 lakh rupees, allegedly obtained from the wife and a unit of PMC Bank accused Praveen Raut.
Investigation under PMLA revealed that Rs 95 crore was extorted by accused Praveen Raut through HDIL.
Praveen Raut paid about Rs 1.6 crore to his wife Madhuri Praveen Raut. Out of this money, Madhuri Raut transferred Rs 55 lakh as interest-free loan to Varsha Raut, wife of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.
The source of funds was illegal loans / advances etc. which were taken from HDFC Bank by HDIL.
While M / s HDIL ledger mentions that funds were given to Praveen Raut for acquisition of land in Palghar area.
These funds were used to buy a flat in Dadar East, Mumbai.
Varsha Raut was summoned twice by the ED last month, the last summons was for 29 December,
but he asked for time and now she will appear before the ED on 5 January.
Let me tell you that before this, many assets worth Rs 293 crore of Rakesh Kumar Wadhavan,
Wadhawan Family Trust and others have been attached by the ED and jewelry worth Rs 63 crore was also seized.
It may be noted that Housing Development Infrastructure Limited (HDIL), Rakesh Kumar Wadhawan,
Sarang Wadhawan under Section 409, 420, 465, 466, 471, and Section
120 B of IPC on the basis of FIR lodged by Economic Offenses Wing of Mumbai Police under PMLA.
The investigation was initiated against Varyam Singh, Joy Thomas and others.
There are allegations against these people that these people have caused a loss of Rs 4355 crore to PMC Bank to benefit themselves.
