New Delhi: Happy Engineers Day 2021 Today (15 September) is Engineers Day in India. Today is special because it is the birthday celebration of Bharat Ratna M Visvesvaraya (a great engineer who was also one of the greatest engineers in India), today. By creating modern India, he has changed the face of India. This is something that almost everyone can remember. This day is observed to honor the engineers of India and to show appreciation for their efforts. 15 September, i.e. Engineer Day is dedicated for those who have contributed to technology’s development.

History of Engineer’s Day
We are happy to inform you that Dr. M Visvesvaraya’s date of birth in 1968 was declared Engineer’s Day. Engineers Day was declared by the Government of India. Engineers Day has been celebrated every year since then on the 15th of September. M. Visvesvaraya was conceived in Kolar, Mysore (Karnataka) on 15 September 1960. Visvesvaraya received the highest Indian honor, Bharat Ratna in 1955. He was also Chief Engineer for Krishna Raja Sagar Dam.
Dr. Visvesvaraya’s contribution to the development of the country
As an engineer, Dr. Mokshagundam Vivesvaraya built many dams in India. The Krishnaraja Sagar Dam, Gwalior’s Tigra Dam, and the dam at Pune’s Khadakwasla Reservoir make up a few of the most notable. In Hyderabad City, Dr. Visvesvaraya is also to be credited. Many of his contributions to the country’s development are not forgotten. He also developed a flood protection system. A special plan was also developed to protect Visakhapatnam’s port from sea erosion.
