Mahashivratri: Shiva temples are crowded with devotees on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

The Srikalahasti temple attracts a large number of devotees. Devotees perform special pujas from early morning. The temple authorities have also made special arrangements as the onslaught of devotees is high. On the other hand, Minister Peddireddy presented silk garments at the Kalahasti temple yesterday.

Shivaratri celebrations are in full swing at Vemulawada in the Rajanna Sirisilla district. Devotees flock to the Rajarajeswaraswamy Temple. Shivratri celebrations are going on in Vemulawada for three days. Authorities estimate that about 4 lakh devotees will flock to Vemulawada today. Devotees come from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh as well as Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.

Then, on the occasion of Mahashivaratri, the Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir were flooded with electric lights. The temple is located at the highest elevation above sea level and offers a spectacular view with aerial view drone camera videos.

Kumbh Mela holy baths have started in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Juna Akhada, Ahwan Akhada, Agni Akhada, and Kinnar Akhada will be bathing here at 11 am today. They will be followed by the Anand Akhadas at one o’clock in the afternoon. Later, Mahanirvani Akhada and Atal Akhada will come here for holy baths. Naga saints will bathe at 7 p.m.

Also, devotees are flocking to perform the holy baths. Authorities have made massive arrangements in this regard. Steps were taken to keep the ghats clean from time to time. The police have set up tight security in view of the influx of devotees to perform the holy baths. Special zones have been set up for this purpose and special supervisors have been appointed. Also, special medical camps have been set up for the devotees.

They will be followed by the Anand Akhadas at one o’clock in the afternoon. Later, Mahanirvani Akhada and Atal Akhada will come here for holy baths. Authorities have set up heavy security in view of the Kumbh Mela. Special zones were set up and special officers were appointed. Also, medical camps were set up for the devotees without any difficulty. Meanwhile, steps have been taken to keep the ghats clean in the wake of the corona epidemic. Special staff is employed and sanitation work is being done.
