After loosing 2 consecutive test matches against South Africa, Team India had an incredible come back by winning the rest 2 test matches. In the 5th tie breaker match just 21 deliveries were bowled, when the rain intervened the match. The tie break of five match series was called off due to rain in Bengaluru and the series ended in 2-2 draw. Because of this Rishabh Pant being the captain missed out in winning the series against South Africa in India. The match started 50 minutes late due to the onset of rain leading to 1-1 reduction of overs for both the teams. When team India scored 28 runs in 3.3 hours with the loss of 2 wickets, once again rain disrupted the match. Due to the continuous raining, the match finally called off.
