An IndiGo pilot, Jaswanth Varma, had a memorable encounter this week when he spotted Indian cricket star Suryakumar Yadav onboard his flight. Varma, clearly excited, decided to capture the moment in a video that has since gone viral, amassing close to two million views.

As the pilot greeted passengers onboard, his joy was evident upon noticing Yadav. Wanting to make the moment even more special, he decided to write a heartfelt note to the cricketer. “I noticed Suryakumar Yadav onboard – the hero who led us to the T20 World Cup. I wrote a special thanks note to SKY with a request,” Varma said in the video.

Varma’s message, written on a piece of tissue paper, read:
“Beloved SKY! Warm welcome on our flight 6E5295 to Bombay. It’s our honor to have you onboard with us today. A small request: would you mind posing for a group photo with the captains and crew post-landing? Thank you! Regards, Pilot Jaswanth!”

The cabin crew delivered the note, along with refreshments, to Yadav, who graciously agreed to the request. After the flight landed, the cricketer posed for photos with the pilot and crew, creating a heartwarming moment for everyone involved.

Yadav’s fans were over the moon. Take a look at the comments on the post here:

Fans Celebrate the Heartfelt Gesture

The video of the encounter quickly garnered attention, with fans of Suryakumar Yadav praising the gesture. One comment on the post read: “The one who made 1.4 billion Indians celebrate.” This is a reference to Yadav’s unforgettable catch during the T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa on June 29, held in Barbados.

During the final over, Yadav pulled off a stunning catch of South Africa’s David Miller—a catch that was pivotal in India’s victory and helped them secure the World Cup. With the ball seemingly headed for the boundary, Yadav’s quick reflexes ensured it stayed in play, cementing his place as one of the match’s heroes.
