New Delhi. The suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) is expected to be reinstated in the UAE from 18 or 19 September and could play two matches for 10 days over a three-week period. A senior official of the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) gave this information to PTI on Tuesday. The final can be held on October 9 or 10. Three weeks’ time will be sufficient to complete the remaining 31 matches of the league’s season. The tournament will be held in a win-win situation for all the primary stakeholders like BCCI, French and broadcasters. The IPL was suspended on May 4 after several cases of Kovid-19 infection occurred in a biologically safe environment.

“The BCCI has held talks with all stakeholders and the tournament may resume from September 18 to 20,” the official told PTI on condition of anonymity. September 18 is Saturday and September 19 is Sunday, chances are you will want to start the league again on weekdays. ”

“Similarly, the final can be held on October 9 or 10 as it is the weekend,” he said. We are finalizing the schedule and 10 days will be two matches and the remaining seven days will be matches in the evening. 31 matches will be completed with four main matches (two qualifiers, an eliminator and a final).

The Indian team’s final Test against England will end in Manchester on 14 September and the next day the entire team (except Hanuma Vihari and Abhimanyu Easwaran) will be transferred from one biologically safe environment to another via chartered aircraft.

The source said, “The Indian team and all the players from England will be available from the same chartered plane to Manchester to Dubai. Similarly, West Indies players will also arrive after playing in the Caribbean Premier League. Players coming from Britain and the Caribbean will undergo three days of segregation. ”

A franchise official confirmed that a BCCI letter has been received in this regard. The team official said, “The BCCI has asked us to be ready for the tournament. We have been given time between 15 and 20 September. ”India’s limited overs series against South Africa has been canceled. The BCCI has decided to cancel India’s T20 International series against South Africa in September, which was part of the team’s preparations for the T20 World Cup.

The source said, “This series will not be held and playing in a competitive tournament like IPL cannot prepare for a better T20 World Cup anyway.” The T20 World Cup will start within a week or 10 days of the end of the IPL, so the series against South Africa may take place later on some other date. ”

“There is a possibility that India could play an extra match when they visit South Africa early next year,” the source said. India have to play a two-Test series against New Zealand in November in the domestic season and the T20 World. The dates of the cup may change depending on their finish. The BCCI will not give up its hosting rights right now and will wait to see how Covid-19 conditions in India. It is unlikely that the country will want to travel to India, which is facing its most serious health crisis since independence.
