The Athletics Federation of India has made a big announcement and said that from next year javelin throw competition will be organized in every district of the country on 7th August. This decision has been taken as a mark of respect to javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who won India’s first Olympic gold medal in athletics. Neeraj Chopra created history by winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics on August 7.
The Athletics Federation of India honored all the players, including Neeraj Chopra, who performed well in athletics in the Tokyo Olympics. Discus throw athlete Kamalpreet Kaur, Lalit Bhanot, gold medalist India thrower Neeraj Chopra and former athlete Anju Babi George were also present at the Athletics Association event held in Delhi. During this, the javelin throw competition to be held every year was also announced.

At the same time, Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra said, “After playing national, when I was taken to the national camp, I got the benefit of it, because earlier we used to cook our own food and everything started getting better in the camp. After that everything changed. Got good facilities and after that everything changed.”
Talking about the gold medal he won in Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj Chopra said, “When I won gold, I used to think how I did it. Couldn’t believe it. Then I used to see my gold medal and used to tell myself this. So I have it.” “Now our target is to win a World Championship medal which Anju Babi George won for us in athletics. Don’t stop after winning one medal. I will try to win more medals now,” he added.
Regarding his last throw in his event in Tokyo, Neeraj said, “Initially two throws went very well. Then many throws went bad in the middle. Before the last throw I knew I had won the gold. So I was so engrossed. But before that throw, I could not understand anything and just threw the throw, but that throw went well.”
He continued, “I respect the amount of work I have done with Coach Han. However, I found Coach Klaus’s technique to be better than his technique, so I decided to train with Klaus. He is very experienced, Which I benefited from.” At the same time, regarding the dope test, he said, “Dope test does happen. When we went from Sweden to Tokyo, it caused a little problem when the dope test was taken early in the morning for three consecutive days. Later I used to recover after taking sleep.”
Neeraj Chopra, who went to Tokyo aiming to throw the 90m javelin, said, “This time I was preparing to throw the 90m throw. Javelin is a bit technical. I was around it. This time I was thinking that I will. It is a dream, which I will definitely fulfill.” Regarding Javelin Throw Day, he said, “Athletics Federation will celebrate Javelin Throw Day on 7th August. It is historic that the Federation has adopted this method to remember my achievement. I am extremely happy.”
