On December 8, many opposition parties have come with the farmers for the Bharat Bandh. For this, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSP supremo Mayawati also supported by tweeting and appealed to the Center to accept the demand of farmers.
Monday is the 12th day of the farmers’ agitation against the Agriculture Bill for the last 11 days. This movement is taking widespread form. In this sequence, on Tuesday, December 8, the farmers have announced Bharat Bandh, which has full support from opposition parties. It also includes the name of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Basma Supremo Mayawati. Along with this, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also meet farmers agitating on the borders of Delhi today. For this, they will go to the Singhu border.
The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has distanced itself from the Bharat Bandh on 8 December called by the agitating farmers. The reason behind this has been given to the political parties involved by the Indian Farmers Union. The Indian Farmers Association says that farmer organizations should democratically put their point before the government.
Kejriwal’s support for Bharat bandh
Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also supported the December 8 Bharat bandh called by farmers. Today they will take stock of the arrangements and facilities made for the farmers to reach the Singhu Border.
Mayawati expressed her support for Bharat bandh by tweeting
Farmer leader Baldev Singh Yadav said, ‘This movement is not only for the farmers of Punjab, but for the entire country. We are going to strengthen our movement and people already know it across the country.
Baldev Singh Yadav appealed to everyone to ensure that the bandh is peaceful, saying, “Since the government was not treating us properly, we called for a Bharat Bandh”.
Mayawati tweeted in this regard and said, “Farmers are agitating all over the country for the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws. In this sequence, he has called for ‘Bharat Bandh’ on 8 December, the BSP gives its support for this bandh and there is again an appeal from the Center to accept the demands of the farmers.
Sixth round talks of center-farmers on 9 December
In fact, the fifth round of talks between the Center and the farmers on Saturday failed. The farmers were also proposed to amend the bill by the government but they were not ready to accept it. Farmers want complete withdrawal of these bills.
Now on Thursday, 9 December, the sixth round of talks is going to end the deadlock between the Center and the farmers.
