Amazon Indian Video will feature original Indian shows like Mirzapur, One More Shot Please every month from next year. Amazon Prime Video is currently working on 20 original shows. Apart from this, it is working on 30 more new shows on the video streaming platform. The company is working to show an Indian show every month from next year. Amazon Prime Video is currently offering shows in 9 Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi and Gujarati. Apart from this, users can also watch shows on this video streaming platform in English.
Amazon Prime Video’s Reach is currently in over 4,000 cities in India. The new original show Family Man is starting on Amazon Prime Video this Friday. Amazon Prime Video is offering its original shows in the Indian market since December 2016. Its viewership has grown manifold in the last three years. In his interview with PTI, the Indian head of Amazon Prime Video, Gaurav Gandhi said that the most important is that users are watching our originals and foreign shows apart from movies. India is the fastest-growing market for us.
Popular shows of Amazon Prime Video include shows like Inside Edge, Breath, Mirzapur, Made in Heaven, The Foreign Army, Here Me, Love Me. For Amazon Prime Video, users have to take a subscription for Rs 999 per year or Rs 129 per month. This over-the-top (OTT) video streaming platform may be challenged since Apple TV +’s entry into the Indian market from November.
