PM Modi spoke to US Vice President Kamala Harris Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to US Vice President Kamala Harris and lauded the US for assuring India of vaccine supplies. The US has also assured India of providing the vaccine under the Global Vaccine Partnership. Under this, India is expected to get a consignment of the vaccine by the end of this month. In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister also thanked Kamala Harris for the cooperation and solidarity received from the US government, businessmen and overseas Indians.

In another tweet, he said, we also discussed the ongoing efforts to further strengthen the India-US vaccine partnership and the possibilities of the partnership between the two countries to contribute to the recovery of the health and economic sector after Kovid-19. The US embassy also released a statement from Harris’ senior adviser and chief spokesperson, in which he referred to his interactions with leaders of four countries, including Prime Minister Modi. In this conversation, the plan to supply the vaccine to India and other countries by the end of this month was discussed.

The leaders discussed the ongoing efforts to strengthen the health supply chain, including in the US and India, in the area of vaccine manufacturing. He highlighted the potential of the India-US partnership under the Quad as well as the vaccine initiative in addressing the long-term health impact of the pandemic. ·
Recently, at the end of the US tour, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had told that the way for cooperation between the two countries will open on many fronts regarding Corona. Jaishankar said, there is an effort to speed up the work of vaccine manufacturing in India with the help of America. India is talking directly to the US about vaccine manufacturing and the other is also being talked about separately about manufacturing under Quad.
Jaishankar termed it as the most important topic of bilateral talks. He also said that as far as increasing vaccine manufacturing is concerned, it is related to America. He did not clarify this, but probably he was referring to the supply of raw materials from America.
