Protest Against Agnipath Scheme: On Tuesday, the central government announced the Agnipath scheme. Describing it as historic, the government said that this scheme will bring a revolutionary change in the lives of the youth. Under this scheme, youth will be given an opportunity to serve in the army for four years.
Not only this, the soldiers recruited under the Agneepath scheme will get a chance to serve in the army even after four years. But it will all depend on the then layoff. Regarding this, students preparing for army recruitment started protesting in Buxar, Bihar today.
The students created a ruckus after reaching Buxar railway station (Protest Against Agnipath Scheme). Some of these students have given the army recruitment exam. Some are waiting for the exam after clearing the medical test. Some have given all the exams and now waiting for the result.
The students allege that even legislators are given five years to serve the public. In such a situation, giving only four years of job to the youth is a fraud.
The Railway Police present at the station was also seen explaining to the candidates that there would be no way out of protesting like this. Let us tell you that the main objective of this scheme is to provide employment to the youth as well as to reduce the burden of salary and pension on the defense budget.
But officers who have held some important positions in the army have expressed concern about this plan.
