This AICC meeting will be online. Along with this, discussions can also be held regarding the preparations for the assembly elections and deciding the strategy ahead. There are 6 assembly elections to be held in the country, for which the Congress is preparing to come up with new ideas and policies. The meeting of the committee convened today is taking place at a time when there are reports of differences between senior party leaders in Congress-ruled states like Punjab and Rajasthan. Therefore, discussions can also be held in the meeting regarding the formation of the State Executive.

In Punjab, there is tension between the factions of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and former minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, while in Rajasthan there is a dispute between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy Sachin Pilot. Let us tell you that a three-member panel formed on the discord in the Punjab Congress and the Chief Minister of Punjab had met earlier this month. The panel had also met party MLAs, MPs, and other leaders after which the panel members submitted a report to Sonia Gandhi. The panel included Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC general secretary in-charge of Punjab affairs Harish Rawat and former MP JP Aggrawal.
