The complete schedule for the 2024 T20 World Cup can be seen here.

Where will the T20 World Cup 2024 be held?

The T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies. The USA will host a major ICC tournament for the first time this year. Two previous men’s World Cups were held in the West Indies: a 50-over tournament in 2007 and a T20 World Cup in 2010. There have also been two women’s T20 World Cups in the Caribbean.

And what are the venues where the T20 World Cup 2024 matches will be played?

There are nine locations where the 2024 T20 World Cup will be held. There will be games in Providence, New York, Lauderhill, North Sound, Gros Islet, Kingstown, and Tarouba in addition to Dallas and Bridgetown.

Which teams are participating in the T20 World Cup 2024?

This year’s competition will feature 20 teams, the highest number of any T20 World Cup. Along with the hosts, the West Indies and the United States, the eight highest-placing teams from the 2022 edition—England, Pakistan, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia, and Netherlands—also qualified automatically. Bangladesh and Afghanistan both qualified automatically based on where they finished in the men’s T20I team rankings.
Ireland and Scotland made it through the European qualifier, while Canada won the Americas qualifier. Namibia and Uganda were the two qualifying teams from Africa, while Nepal and Oman advanced from the Asia qualifier. In the East Asia-Pacific qualifier, Papua New Guinea prevailed.

What is the format for the T20 World Cup 2024?

There are four groups of five teams each out of the twenty teams. The groups are available for viewing here. The top two teams from each group advance to the Super Eight stage, which consists of two groups of four teams each. Each team plays each other once. The two teams that place highest in each of these groups advance to the semifinal.

What happens if a match ends in a tie?

Every tied match will be decided by a Super Over; if that too finishes in a tie, there will be another Super Over, and so on, until a winner is found.

And how are matches decided if the weather plays spoilsport?

In case of rain or bad weather in the group stage and Super Eight matches, each team will have to be able to bat at least five overs for a result to be declared. However, as was the case in the previous edition, the two semi-finals and the final will need each team to be able to bat a minimum of ten overs for a result to be possible.

What about the knockout matches, then?

There are reserve days and an extra 190 minutes for both the first semi-final and the final. Because there is only one day between that match and the final, the second semi-final does not have a reserve day. To try and make sure a result is feasible, the second semifinal will have an extra 250 minutes. India has been seeded into the second semi-final, assuming they make it to the knockout stages, based on the scheduling of the two matches.

Which teams have previously won the men’s T20 World Cup?

The men’s T20 World Cup has previously been won by seven teams. West Indies and England are the only teams to have won it twice, with India becoming victorious in the 2007 edition. Additionally, England is the reigning champion.
The entire list of winners is as follows:

2009: Pakistan
2010: England
West Indies, 2012
