Another gold medal came in India’s bag on Saturday. Pramod Bhagat defeated Britain’s Danian Bethel 2-0 in the final of the men’s singles badminton SL3 event. This is India’s fourth gold in the ongoing games. India has got 16 medals till now.

The Badminton team gave India great success on Saturday. Pramod Bhagat, Suhas L Yathiraj, and Krishna Nagar secured their place in the finals by winning their respective semi-final matches.
Earlier, Bhagat had defeated Daisuke Fujihara of Japan 21-11, 21-16 in the men’s singles SL3 semi-finals of the Tokyo Paralympics on Saturday. In the final, Bhagat defeated Bethel in straight sets 21-14 and 21-17 in 45 minutes. This is India’s first medal in badminton at the Tokyo Paralympics. In the opening minutes of the first set, there was a lot of competition between the two players. Pramod, trailing 3-5, made a comeback in the match. The Indian then took an 11-8 lead in the mid-game interval. Bhagat continued his streak in this game and won the first game 21-14.
