Four people have died due to poisonous drinking in the Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh, while many people have become ill, who are undergoing treatment.
Chitrakoot Inspector General of Police K Satyanarayana told
“People died after consuming poisonous liquor in Khopa village of Rajapur police station area of the district on Sunday morning. Four people died and three people died in the hospital. Admitted to. Two people have been referred from Rajapur to Prayagraj due to serious condition. “
After the information, district officials reached Khopa village and the sick people were admitted to the hospital. According to the local people,
the condition of six people worsened late on Saturday night by drinking raw liquor of Mahua. While going to CHC Rajapur for treatment, two people died on the way while two people died in the hospital.
On getting information about the incident, the administrative staff was stirred up. DM Shubhrant Kumar Shukla and SP Ankit Mittal reached the spot and took information about the alcohol from the hospitalized people. According to the villagers, drinking the raw liquor of Mahua worsened the condition of the people.
It is being told that a chemical was added to the liquor to increase intoxication. However, the police say that the investigation of the case is being done and the reality will be revealed only after the investigation. The DM and SP of the district also started investigating as soon as they reached the spot.
The police have been ordered to crack down on those who sell raw liquor, but no arrests have been made so far.
