On February 14, 2019, a terrorist attack claimed the lives of 44 members of the CRPF. Even though this tragedy occurred four years ago, the wounds are still fresh.

In the terrorist attack at Goripora, close to Avantipora on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, 44 members of the CRPF lost their lives.

The CRPF convoy, which included 2 thousand 5 hundred 47 jawans and there were more than 60 vehicles.

Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists targeted a bus of CRPF jawans in Pulwama area with an explosives-laden vehicle; when the two collided, the bus detonated, killing roughly 40 jawans.

The incident in Pulwama shocked the whole country. India thereafter exacted revenge for the troops' martyrdom.

Within 12 days of the Pulwama incident, India launched airstrikes against Pakistani terrorists ‘hideouts.

On February 26, 2019, Indian Air Force aircraft flew into Balakot, Pakistan, and attacked terrorist sites.
