A 112-foot statue of Adiyogi Shiva was inaugurated on the foothills of Nandi Hills on January 15 in honour of the auspicious Makar Sankranti festival.
The 112-foot-tall Adiyogi statue in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is a duplicate of this one. The Adiyogi statue has been erected on the grounds of the Isha Foundation in the Chikkaballapur district.
The court was informed that no trees would be cut down for the occasion and that no construction would take place.
The occasion was highlighted by cultural performances by Radhe Jaggi, daughter of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the founder of the Isha Foundation, in Bharathanatyam, and the Keralan fire dance Theyam.
Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister of Karnataka, K Sudhakar, and B C Nagesh, the minister of primary and secondary education, were all present.
The public can now visit the 112-foot Adi Yogi statue that was just dedicated at Chikkaballapur, closest to Bengaluru.
