According to a report by the Guardian, cricket will be featured in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, which is a significant move that will delight cricket enthusiasts.
Following the 141st session of the International Olympic Committee on Sunday in Mumbai, the LA organising committee will formally declare its choice, according to the report.
Cricket had previously been a part of the Olympics, when England and France faced off in a single game to determine the gold medal winner in 1900.
The report further states that a T20 men's and women's tournament will take place in LA in 2028, much like it did at the recently finished Asian Games.
The judgement, however, pleased the International Cricket Council (ICC). "We are thrilled that LA28 have recommended cricket for inclusion in the Olympics," ICC Chairman Greg Barclay remarked.
Even if this is not the final decision, it is a major step towards the return of cricket to the Olympics after more than a century. Chairman of ICC stated.
