The Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals competed in the Women's Premier League's debut season's championship game. Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals to win the inaugural WPL championship.

Delhi scored 131 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs while batting first. Each of Wong and Mathews claimed three wickets. Amelia Kerr secured two dismissals.

After winning the toss, Meg Lanning chose to bat first. Delhi suffered two setbacks in just the second over. Alice Capsey and Sheffley were fired by Wong.

The 35 runs Meg Lanning scored. She was dismissed. Wong also eliminates Jemima. Delhi's score at one stage was 79 for 9 in 15.6 overs.

Shikha Pandey (27 not out) and Radha Yadav (27 not out) then shared an unbroken 52-run partnership for the last wicket in 24 balls.

Added runs, bringing Delhi Capitals to 131. In women's T20 cricket, this partnership is the highest for the tenth wicket. To win the game, Mumbai needed 132 runs.

Mumbai also had a poor start in response to 132 runs. In the second over, Radha Yadav struck Yastika Bhatia as her victim. After the team had 23 runs, Hayley Mathews was also ejected.
