In India, there has been significant progress in promoting women's cricket. At the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai, the Women's Premier League player auction took place.

Smriti Mandhana of India was the most expensive athlete. RCB paid 3.40 crores for her at the IPL auction.

Number two was Ashley Gardner. Gujarat Giants paid Rs 3.20 crore to get her. The third most expensive player on the list is Natalie Sciver. The Mumbai Indians paid 3.20 crores to get her.

Deepti Sharma, an all-around player for India, was ranked fourth. Deepti joined their squad after being purchased by UP Warriors for 2.60 crores.

Jemima Rodrigues stayed in the end in the queue of IPL auction. For 2.20 crores, Delhi Capitals added her to the team.

The Mumbai Indians have named Harmanpreet Kaur as their captain. Shefali Verma, however, will represent Delhi. For the RCB, Richa Ghosh and Renuka Thakur will play.

Remember that the Women's Premier League's debut season kicks off on March 4 and concludes on March 26.
