WFH Rules Now Employees Will Be Able To Work From Home For One Year

Now, employees will be able to work from home for one year, and know – for which employees the new rule of the government will be applicable

Due to the coronavirus, the culture of work from home has increased worldwide. This culture is being adopted rapidly in India. Now the Ministry of Commerce has announced new rules for work from home. According to the Ministry of Commerce, work from home will be allowed for a maximum of one year. It was said in the statement that only 50 percent of the employees can get the benefit of this.

However, this facility will be available only for the employees working in a Special Economic Zones Unit (SEZ). According to news agency PTI, the Commerce Department has notified Special Economic Zone Rules 43A, 2006 for work from home.

WFH Rules Now Employees Will Be Able To Work From Home For One Year

The statement said that a demand was made on behalf of the industries regarding the provisions of work from home. The notification has been issued keeping in view the demand of the industries. The government stated that there was a demand for a uniform WFH policy for SEZs.

IT/ITES employees of SEZ units will get the benefit of WFH. Apart from this, this rule will apply to employees who are temporarily disabled, or those who are traveling and working remotely. Work From Home facility will be available to 50 percent of the employees.

The Development Commissioner Will Have The Right

The Development Commissioner (DC) of the SEZ will be empowered to approve more than 50 percent. However, DC will have to give the same in writing. The ministry said that one year’s permission has been given for work from home. This can be extended by the DC for a period of one year at a time on the request of the units.
