Naftali Bennett

Naftali Bennett

The Benjamin Netanyahu decade has finally come to an end in Israel. Naftali Bennett was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Israel on Sunday, removing Netanyahu, once called the King of Israel. Bennett, who was once a commando of the Special Forces, proved himself powerful in every way and from politics to business.

majority in coalition

In Israel’s 120-member Knesset, 60 members voted in favor of Bennett, 49, and 59 against, in the right-wing Yamina party. With this, he has become the head of a militarily strong country like Israel. Now the world wants to know who and how is this new leader and what will be new in the Israel-Palestinian issue.
The new leader

The son of a very young and energetic American immigrant, Bennett is much younger and more energetic than Netanyahu, 71. Bennett was born in Haifa, Israel, and is religiously Jewish. This person living in Tel Aviv, while living with the current PM, has seen important departments like Finance-Ministry and Education in the government. Also, he has been a commando in the Israeli army.

Bennett’s parents were born in America, but Bennett was born in the religiously devout city of Haifa, Israel. After this, his parents continued to travel to Israel and sometimes to North America in connection with their work. This brought many different qualities to Bennett’s personality. Not only did he get hold of the foreign language English, but he also became religious along with the modern.

First PM to wear Kippa

This is the reason that in his personal life, Bennett is completely Jewish. He wears a kind of religious cap on his head, which is worn by people of radical Jewish thinking. This cap is called kippa, which covers the back part of the head. Bennett will be the first PM of this country to wear a kippa. That is, it cannot be thought that Bennett will hide his religious thinking by coming into politics.

Bennett’s History Quite Controversial

In 1996, he led the military action against Hezbollah. Later, the Israeli press Yedioth Ahronoth alleged that 106 Lebanese civilians were also killed in the action. Among those killed were 4 people from the UN.

Technology came into politics

After leaving the army, Bennett immediately jumped into technology. He started a tech company in Tel Aviv, which was sold shortly after for $145 million. After the sale of the company, Bennett entered politics. When Netanyahu was in the opposition party, Bennett joined him and started working. Five years later, Bennett also left Netanyahu and started running the Yesha Council, which worked for the benefit of Jews in the West Bank.
Israel, the only Jewish country surrounded by Arab countries, always had to keep aggressive methods so that it could maintain its existence. From time to time there is news of some terrorist activity, which is operated by neighboring countries. In such a situation, we understand a little about what will be the attitude of the new PM.
