Raghubar Singh, standing on the banks of the Rasin Dam on the border of Banda and Chitrakoot districts, said these things while staring at the new sign board on the side of the dam,
which states that the project started in the year 2003 was completed in the year 2019-20.
Just before this sign board, which gave information about the dam, the board was put in it,
the name of the dam was written as ‘Chaudhary Charan Singh Rasin Dam Project’
but now its name is just ‘Rasin Dam Project’.
On March 10 this month, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath duly inaugurated the Rasin Dam on the Banganga River in Chitrakoot district in a grand program,
and claimed that it will provide irrigation facilities to many villages in drought-prone areas like Bundelkhand.
However, the construction work of this dam was completed in the year 2011 itself and the then Chief Minister of UP Mayawati also inaugurated it.
Not only this, during the Samajwadi Party government in the year 2012,
then Irrigation Minister Shivpal Yadav also inaugurated an inspection building here.
Therefore, after the ten years of construction of the dam, many questions are arising regarding the release of the dam.
By the way, two canals coming out of the dam have been irrigating the farmers’
land for the last several years according to their capacity.
It is a different matter that water is not often in the canals and in the future,
there will be water in it, people are apprehensive about it.
