In the second Test match being played between India and England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Team India has made its move towards victory.
On the third day of the match, after playing a brilliant century by R Ashwin, the England team scored only 53 runs in 19 overs at the loss of their three wickets.
While playing for England, Rory Burns scored 25, Dom Sibley scored 3 runs while Jack Leach returned to the pavilion without opening the account. Dan Lawrence and Joe Root are currently at the crease.
Akshar Patel and Ashwin played their part in reducing England’s top batting order in just 19 overs.
Axar Patel lbw Dom Sibley for 8.2 overs. After this, Ravichandran Ashwin got Rory Burns caught out at the hands of Kohli for 15.6 overs. By this time the total score of the England team was 49 runs.
But just six balls after falling this wicket, the England team was once again shocked. This time Akshar Patel caught Jack Leach out of Rohit Sharma. And thus the game of the third day ended on a total score of 53 runs.
England’s team will now hit the ground to score 429 runs for victory on Tuesday, 16 February. At the same time, India will be eyeing the final seven wickets.
Now it will have to be seen what the route, on which the eyes of England fans are resting, can do for their team. Joe Root is currently at the crease after scoring 2 runs.
But before this, the third day of the second Test match was full of thrills. Ravichandran Ashwin did it on the third day of the match, which many cricket pundits did not expect.
