New consumer protection law gives customer rights
Consumer Protection Act: The Central Government has made several major changes in the Consumer Protection Act. After the enactment of the new consumer law, the accountability of companies and artists who advertise them has become more than ever. In such a situation, consumers can now buy more powerfully than before. E-commerce companies are also included under the consumer protection act 2019.

Can file complaint anywhere: Under the new rule, consumers can now file a complaint in any commission. Whereas it was not so before. The case was registered only where there was an office of the company that manufactured the goods or gave the service.
Celebrity is also accountable:
Now, if any celebrity is promoting or advertising any misleading advertisement that will be a punishable offense. In such a situation, celebrities will now choose advertisements after thinking very highly. Previously, celebrity accountability for misleading advertisements was not fixed.
Online shopping companies included:
In the new law e-commerce website have also been included. That is, now online shoppers do not have to sit on the basis of customer care for the product or service, they can also register their complaint and place.
The vendor also in scope:
Now the seller will also be under the surveillance of this law. If a shopkeeper is selling goods more than the MRP, then there will be legal intervention.
Attempts to drill on adulterated food:
Now food items have also been brought under the purview of this law. There will be a provision of fines and jail up to 6 months of Impressionment in case of any adulteration of food and drinks.
Now product loyalty to customers:
Earlier, only a fixed amount and a little compensation were available on a bad product, which was not fixed in many cases. But now the product loyalty has been fixed by increasing its scope.
In large cases, the work at the district level may be:
First, up to Rs 20 lakhs at the district level, Rs 1 crore at the state level, then complaints of more than this amount could be heard at the national level, now the basic economic zone of the District Commission has gone up to 1 crore, up to 10 crores. The State Commission will listen to the matters related to the amount of money, while complaints of higher value cases can be appealed at the national level.
Class action suits against companies:
If different cases of a company against its product are in many places, then big companies will have to be afraid of class action suits in India too. Investors facing similar cases under the class suit are given the opportunity to come together and join a lawsuit.
Consumer commission:
With the strengthening of the Consumer Forum, it has been commissioned as a consumer.
Right to information to the customer:
Under this, customers can get information about the product or service this information can be about the quantity, capacity, quality, purity, level, and price of the item.
Problem or trouble hearing:
Under the new law, customers have the right to be heard. That is, he can file a case against exploitation during shopping and he will be heard.
Customer’s right to redress grievances:
It has been made mandatory for the company to address any problem or inconvenience faced by the consumer.
Right to Protection:
If any product or service can be life-threatening, the right to safety from them. As the acid threatens the lives of the people, the customers have the right to safety from it.
The company can not force consumers for service or product:
The customer cannot be forced or forced to make a purchase. Till the customer is not convinced and does not check the item, he cannot be asked to purchase it forcibly.
Exaggerated advertisers will go to jail:
The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), the agency that examines the authenticity of advertisements, has been advised by the Consumer Protection Act 2019 to avoid the promotion of misleading information to all advertisers, advertisers. The ASCI has hoped that the new act will have a significant impact on the misleading advertisements, which are quite crowded for days. ASCI will begin monitoring potentially misleading advertisements appearing on digital media with surveillance on print and TV.
